DevOps
QA10Culture and practices connecting development and operations
Definition
An approach to software development in which the team responsible for writing code is also responsible for maintaining it in production. DevOps aims to minimise the time between writing a feature and it running in production, while maintaining system stability.
Business application
A company where the development team "throws code over the wall" to operations typically ships 2–4 deployments per month. A company with mature DevOps ships tens of deployments per day — but each is small, automatically tested and easy to roll back.
