Process Mining

Discovering and analysing processes through event data

Process mining uses event records from systems to reconstruct and analyse how processes actually run. It can reveal paths, waiting times and deviations from an expected process. Useful analysis depends on suitable identifiers, timestamps and reliable event data.

What it means for a business

A company can compare its documented order-to-delivery process with the paths recorded in its systems. Repeated loops, waiting periods and unusual variants can guide investigation, with staff input used to explain what the data does not show.
