Planning how to fund an investment
What it means
Financing is the process of identifying and arranging the funds needed for a project. Sources can include internal funds, loans, equity and public support programmes. A financing plan accounts for eligibility, repayment or contribution requirements, cash flow and the timing of expenditure.
What it means for a business
A business planning a technology project can compare funding options against its scope, budget and cash needs. Public support depends on the relevant programme and assessment; the existence of a funding programme does not establish that a particular project will receive support.
