Business Case
Investment feasibility analysis
Definition
A document justifying an investment, showing costs, benefits, a risk map and return on investment calculations. A good business case is not hype — it is a conservative summary of options with calculations of which has the highest net present value (NPV).
Business application
Before a 1.5M PLN ERP implementation, the board requires a business case with NPV, IRR, payback and sensitivity analysis. Without a solid business case, a digital transformation project will not pass board approval.
